Abstract

The library at Pondok Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara Makassar still uses manual processes for borrowing and returning books, resulting in slow and inefficient services. This study applies the Business Process Reengineering (BPR) method to redesign business processes for greater effectiveness. Data were collected through observation and interviews, then mapped using BPMN and analyzed with throughput efficiency tests based
on ASME standards. Process improvements were made using the ESIA method (Eliminate,Simplify, Integrate, Automate). The results show an increase in borrowing efficiency from 52% to 100% and returning efficiency from 53% to 100%, along with a significant
reduction in processing time. The redesigned process demonstrates that BPR effectively enhances overall library service efficiency and quality.
