Abstract

study aims to determine the effect of compensation and work environment on employee retention at CV. Jenawa Jaya, Balikpapan. The research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed to 44 employees. The analytical technique employed multiple linear regression with SPSS 26. The results indicate that compensation and work environment both have significant and positive effects on employee retention. Among the two, the work environment is the most influential variable in determining employee retention. This finding highlights that supportive and comfortable working conditions play a more dominant role than financial rewards in retaining competent employees within the company.
