Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of job training on employee performance with competency as an intervening variable at PT Trans Kaltim Logistic. The study was conducted on 68 respondents using explanatory methods and quantitative approaches. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, and data analysis used Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results of the work training scale range in the high category, employee performance in the high category, and competence in the high category. The results showed that job training had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. In addition, job training also had a positive and significant effect on employee competency. However, competency did not have a significant effect on employee performance, so competency was unable to mediate the effect of job training on performance. This finding indicates that improvements in employee performance are more directly influenced by the job training provided, rather than through increased competency.
