Abstract

This study aims to determine the Pendem Village Government's strategy in overcoming three problems in Pendem Village, namely reduced employment, lack of market access and inappropriate product distributors, forcing the Village Government to find solutions to these problems. Researchers found several ways that the Pendem Village Government overcame these problems by utilizing the local economy, these ways were encouraging the development of MSMEs by holding bazaars, providing trade and agricultural facilities, digitizing the village economy (e-commerce), and empowering the PKK.
The research method used is qualitative research method. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation and documentation so that researchers could find concrete evidence of the research. In addition, researchers also conducted interviews with the Village Government, PKK, and Pendem Village community.
Based on the results of research related to local economic development, researchers found the existence of appropriate strategies in reducing problems in Pendem Village, this is also supported by the qualified capacity of village officials. Researchers also found that there were obstacles in this study, namely the Village Government which was lacking in utilizing the potential of the village.
