Abstract
Effective communication for dual-worker marriages couples is crucial for supporting elementary children's learning motivation. They find it challenging to balance their role as parents and as employees in terms of enhancing children's motivation. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-interpretative type and a case study. This research involved 6 dual-worker marriages couples who have elementary children in Gorontalo City. The data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show the communication pattern for consesual type with high-oriented conversation and high-oriented conformity. Dual-worker marriages couples routinely invest their time in the afternoon and evening to discuss their children's motivation through open communication. They teach family values such as discipline, responsibility, hardwork, honesty in terms of learning through giving inspiration. Signficant others (grandparents) play an important role for bridging communication and giving emotional support. Family communication pattern with the consensual type not only is based on two dimentions of orientations, but also by support from signficant others in enhancing children's learning motivation.
