Abstract
Background: Lifestyle factors such as diet and physical activity play a significant role
in the success of hypertension treatment. Objective: This study aims to explore the
lifestyle of Mrs. L, a 53-year-old housewife with hypertension, living in Bendo Village,
Blitar Regency. Method: A qualitative approach with a case study method was used in
this research. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with Mrs. L and her
family and were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusiondrawing techniques. Results: The findings revealed that Mrs. L faced challenges in
managing her diet, sleep patterns, and stress. However, her physical activity was
relatively routine. Key factors influencing her blood pressure included the
consumption of foods high in salt and coffee, insufficient physical activity, and
disturbed sleep patterns. Family support and supervision from healthcare professionals
played a crucial role in managing her hypertension. Conclusion: Non-compliance with
lifestyle management can negatively impact blood pressure stability. Therefore, a
holistic approach is needed, involving family support, healthcare professionals, as well
as education and motivation for the patient in the treatment of hypertension
