Pemaknaan Khalayak Terhadap Pemecatan STY Melalui Akun X @PSSI (Analisis Resepsi Pada Anggota Komunitas Suporter La Grande Indonesia)

This study examines the interpretations of the La Grande Indonesia supporter community administrators regarding the news of Shin Tae-yong's (STY) dismissal by PSSI through the X PSSI social media account. The news discussed concerns the dismissal of STY's coach and the public's response to the dismissal.
The La Grande Indonesia community was chosen because its members have diverse backgrounds and experiences and are concerned with the development of national football, especially the Indonesian national team. The study uses Stuart Hall's reception analysis theory, which views the audience as actors in creating meaning, dividing audience interpretation into three categories: dominant hegemony, negotiation, and opposition.
Through interviews with a qualitative approach, the results showed that the La Grande Indonesia Malang community administrators had varying views on STY's dismissal. One subject fully supported or held a dominant hegemonic position regarding PSSI's policy, particularly regarding its stance and strategy in selecting a new coach. However, three subjects also negotiated, with the dismissal timeline being less appropriate to the current state of the Indonesian national football team. Each subject's interpretation of the message was influenced by their different backgrounds and fill-of-reference factors.
