TUGAS SUTRADARA PADA PROSES PRODUKSI FILM FIKSI PENDEK BERJUDUL "SELARAS"

The short film "Selaras" is a work of fiction depicting the emotional dynamics between a father and son in the context of amnesia, with a short duration but intense narrative. This study aims to examine the director's role in the film's creative process, including pre-production, production, and post-production. A qualitative approach was used to explore artistic decisions, script interpretation, actor direction, and the visualization of the family theme. The director has the primary responsibility of translating the story idea into an emotionally engaging audio-visual form. Through the directing process and interdepartmental collaboration, the director ensures that each scene reflects the story's full meaning. This study found that narrative and aesthetic sensitivity are crucial for the successful delivery of the short film's message. The director's technical and emotional decisions proved instrumental in establishing authentic character relationships. By addressing issues of masculinity and psychological aspects such as amnesia, the film demands a subtle yet powerful cinematic approach. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of short film directing studies. Furthermore, these findings can also serve as a practical reference for young filmmakers in managing the complex and emotional creative process.
