Abstract

This research aims to measure the extent of the influence of interpersonal communication between students and teachers on the learning motivation of MAN Barito Selatan Plus Keterampilan students. Interpersonal Communication is measured through indicators of openness, empathy, supportive attitude, and positive attitude. Meanwhile, Learning Motivation is measured by indicators such as enthusiasm in learning, diligence in completing assignments, a high level of curiosity towards learning materials, a strong desire to have aspirations, and a strong desire to achieve in learning. This research uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The research population is the 11th-grade students of MAN Barito Selatan Plus Keterampilan. The population consists of 208 students. Through the random sampling technique, the sample size was determined to be 137 students who became respondents. The research instrument used in this study is a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The data analysis technique uses the Coefficient of Determination formula to test the extent of the influence of variable X (interpersonal communication) on variable Y (learning motivation). The research results show that the influence of X on Y is 0.387 or 38.7%. The conclusion of the research is that Interpersonal Communication has a small effect on learning motivation, so it is still necessary to find other variables that influence students' learning motivation.
