Abstract

In the context of modern society in Indonesia, the internet and social media—particularly Twitter—play a crucial role in various fields such as education, health, and communication. Growing awareness of mental health issues has become increasingly evident, with platforms like Twitter serving as significant spaces for discussion and the dissemination of essential information. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of how mental health content is utilized by the Twitter account @Halojiwa. The application of NVivo 12 facilitated a more systematic process of analyzing and interpreting the content.
The findings of this study provide a comprehensive overview of the research methodology, from data collection to analysis, while highlighting the importance of NVivo 12 in supporting qualitative data analysis. NVivo enhances qualitative research through features such as multi-source importing, auto-coding, and automated data visualization tools, including hierarchy charts and diagram charts. This research analyzed 167 tweets posted between 2020 and 2024, all of which focused on mental health-related information. The analysis covered various aspects of mental health, including current issues, symptoms, psychology, the influence of social media on thought patterns, mental health disorders, aspects of the psyche, and coping strategies implemented through the Halojiwa community’s programs.
The proposed study reflects a growing interest in understanding the role of Twitter as a source of mental health information in Indonesia. The findings provide a thorough overview and serve as a solid foundation for further research.
