Abstract

This study focuses on the impact of digital media in reproducing the objectification of women, which can reinforce gender stereotypes and discrimination in society. The content of the Mursid episode "Sop Rambut" provides a clear example of how such messages are
presented, making it important to explore how audiences receive and interpret it. Using Stuart Hall's encoding/decoding theory as a basis, this qualitative research employs a reception
analysis approach. The findings reveal that audiences interpret the message in different ways ranging from full acceptance, negotiation, to rejection depending on their social and cultural
backgrounds. Additionally, the study shows that the current role of DP3A focuses more on education and outreach due to limited authority over digital content. These findings offer
valuable insights into gender representation in digital media and have practical implications for developing policies to protect women.
