Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Adiwiyata flagship program in the Merdeka Curriculum at Purwantoro 01 Elementary School, Malang City. The focus of the study includes the implementation of the Adiwiyata program, supporting and inhibiting factors, and efforts to optimize the implementation of the program in character and competency-based learning. The Adiwiyata program is seen as a strategic means to instill values of environmental care and student responsibility, in line with the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum.

This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study included principals, teachers, and students. The results of the study showed that the Adiwiyata program in the Merdeka Curriculum was successfully integrated through a project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile and routine school activities in learning such as community service and learning about recycling. Supporting factors include school commitment, involvement of school residents, and support from the education and environmental services. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced include limited facilities and infrastructure and unequal environmental awareness..

The results of the study indicate that the Adiwiyata program has been implemented through the stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation with the support of the principal, teachers, students, and guardians. Supporting factors include school policies and active participation of school residents, while inhibiting factors are limited time and parental involvement. It is hoped that the Adiwiyata program has been implemented optimally at SDN Purwantoro 01 and has contributed positively to shaping the character of students who care about the environment. Optimization can be done through increasing collaboration between parties and strengthening the integration of environmental materials in learning.
