Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Brainstorming method on the writing ability of fourth grade students of SDN 1 Mulyoagung, Malang Regency.The type of research used is Pretest and Posttests Design. The sample of this study was all students of class IV A SDN 1 Mulyoagung as many as 32 people. This study was conducted with two stages of assessment, namely the initial test or before treatment and the final test or after treatment. Researchers collected data through written tests and documentation. The results of descriptive statistical analysis of the application of the Brainstorming method to students' argumentation writing ability are positive. Students' writing ability with the application of the Brainstorming method shows better learning outcomes than before using the Brainstorming method. The results of inferential statistical analysis using the t test formula, it can be seen that the tcount value is 14.49. With a frequency (dk) of 32 - 1 = 31 at the 5% significance level, the t table = 2.040 is obtained. Because tcount> ttable at a significance level of 0.05, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and (H1) is accepted. This proves that the application of the Brainstorming method is effective on the writing ability of fourth grade students of SDN 1 Mulyoagung Malang, Dau District. Malang Regency.
