Abstract
Education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and personality of students through the development of local cultural values relevant to the Merdeka Curriculum. At Rejosari Elementary School, several key issues were identified: limited educational media available at the school, available media not consistently utilized in the learning process, students tending to be passive during question-and-answer sessions with teachers, showing low interest or boredom during lessons, and a relatively low awareness among students regarding the local wisdom of Pasuruan Regency. Therefore, this study aims to develop a Pop-Up The Movable Book learning media based on the local wisdom of Pasuruan Regency as an innovative and engaging medium to support theater art learning, making students more active, creative, and better able to understand the lesson material.
The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five main stages: Analysis (needs analysis), Design (media design), Development (media development and validation by experts), Implementation (limited trial on grade 2 students at Rejosari Elementary School), and Evaluation (effectiveness evaluation through observation, interviews, and assessment questionnaires involving teachers and students).
The results indicate that the Pop-Up The Movable Book media developed based on Pasuruan Regency's local wisdom significantly increased students' interest and motivation to learn. Expert media assessments achieved an attainment level of 88.2%, while content experts gave a score of 85.7%, indicating that the media has high aesthetic quality, functionality, and content relevance. Student responses to the media were extremely positive, with 100% of students stating that they felt more interested and enthusiastic about learning theater arts. Furthermore, teacher responses were also highly supportive, with an attainment level of 94.6%, reflecting the media’s suitability for learning needs and ease of implementation.
