Abstract
This undergraduate thesis explores the prosocial behavior of university students involved in the “Friday Sharing” (Jum’at Berkah) program, specifically in its implementation at Jami Roudlotul Jannah Mosque. The focus of the study is to identify and describe the factors influencing students’ prosocial actions as well as the forms of behavior exhibited in the program. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed in this research. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis utilized the interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. To ensure the credibility of the findings, source triangulation and member checking were applied. The research findings indicate that students demonstrate prosocial behavior through food and monetary donations, volunteering in food distribution, and participation as committee members in Qurban and zakat fitrah events. The supporting factors for such behavior include early exposure to religious teachings, a background in Islamic education, a socially supportive environment, and a strong sense of empathy. Conversely, several inhibiting factors were identified, such as inconsistency in participation, doubts regarding the accuracy of aid targeting, and logistical obstacles during distribution. The “Friday Sharing” program has proven to provide substantial benefits to the surrounding community, particularly to the underprivileged, by helping fulfill their basic weekly needs. Based on these findings, it is recommended that mosque administrators strengthen coordination with student volunteers, provide structured roles for participation, and ensure transparency and accurate data management to sustain effective student involvement.
