Abstract

Foundation is the most crucial part of a building structure as it functions to support the entire building load and transfer it to the underlying soil. This study discusses the design of pile foundations as an alternative to bored pile foundations in the construction of the Pavilion Service Building at Dr. Saiful Anwar Regional Public Hospital in Malang City. The building consists of seven floors and one basement, with a large structural load requiring a strong and stable deep foundation. The design method uses data from a Standard Penetration Test (SPT) up to a depth of 30 meters, with a maximum N-SPT value of 80, indicating very dense soil. The superstructure analysis was carried out using ETABS software in accordance with SNI 1726:2019 and SNI 1727:2020 standards. The calculations include dead loads, live loads, earthquake loads, and factored load combinations to determine the bearing capacity of the piles, the number of piles, the design of the pile cap, and the foundation settlement. The results of the design show that square-shaped precast pile foundations can be effectively used to support the superstructure load. The resulting design meets safety and strength criteria in accordance with applicable standards and is capable of optimally accommodating the soil conditions and building loads.
