Abstract
Background: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) Southeast Asia Region reported a significant number of new TB cases. The top four countries contributing to the global TB burden are China, India, Indonesia, and Pakistan (Nortajulu, 2022). Indonesia itself recorded 845,000 cases and 98,000 deaths due to TB. Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs (ATDs) consist of four antibiotics: Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Pyrazinamide, and Ethambutol.
Purpose: To understand the pattern of use of OAT includingtype, dosage, frequency, and duration of use in the inpatient unit of the Kediri District General Hospital.
Method: This study was observational, meaning data was collected retrospectively using descriptive research at Kediri District Hospital. The sampling technique used was time-limited sampling, with a sample amount of 14 patients.
Result and Conclusion: The type of ATD used was intensive-phase FDC in 4 patients (29%) and FDC in combination with other antibiotics in 10 patients (71%), the most common ATD dosage was 1 x 3 RHZE tablets (50%), the frequency of ATD use was daily (100%), most patients underwent treatment for ≤ 1 week.
