Abstract

This study examines the efforts of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in improving the quality of education for children and women in India during the 2019–2023 period. UNICEF, as an international organization focused on child welfare, has implemented various programs to address challenges related to access and quality of education, particularly for girls and marginalized groups in India. UNICEF’s approach includes strengthening education systems through teacher training, developing inclusive curricula, providing safe educational facilities, and advocating for policies to reduce gender and social disparities. This study employs a qualitative method, analyzing UNICEF’s official documents and reports to evaluate the impact of these programs. It also applies the International Organization and Implementation theory. The findings indicate that UNICEF initiatives, such as the “Girls’ Education” and “Education For All” programs, as well as partnerships with the Indian government, have increased school participation rates for girls and improved learning environments in remote areas. However, challenges such as poverty, child marriage, and inadequate infrastructure remain significant obstacles. The study concludes that while substantial progress has been made, cross-sectoral collaboration and sustained investment are necessary to ensure quality education for all children in India.
