Abstract

This study aims to analyze the creativity of mathematics teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at SMP 4 Karangploso. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with the subject being a grade VII mathematics teacher. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and student response observation sheets. The results indicate that the teacher demonstrated a fairly good level of creativity in terms of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The flexibility indicator achieved the highest average score of 3.43, reflecting the teacher’s ability to adapt teaching methods, media, and approaches. However, the evaluation aspect received the lowest average score of 2.57, highlighting the need for improvement in reflective assessment practices. The teacher implemented various project-based and technology-integrated learning strategies, while fostering active interaction with students in alignment with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. These findings suggest that teacher creativity plays a crucial role in the successful implementation of the curriculum and in enhancing the quality of mathematics learning. The study recommends strengthening reflective evaluation and improving lesson planning to further optimize teacher creativity.
