Abstract

This study was initiated due to the low motivation and limited understanding of students regarding multiplication. At SDN Gunungsari 01, teachers had not been using instructional media to support mathematics learning. The purpose of this study was to develop a concrete instructional tool called the Smart Multiplication Table (TAKALINTAR) to help students understand multiplication concepts in a simpler and more enjoyable way.
This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, and the product was validated by experts and tested with teachers and fourth-grade students.
The validation results indicated that the TAKALINTAR media was highly suitable for classroom use, receiving a score of 92.85% from subject matter experts and 89.58% from media experts. Teacher responses reached 95.83%, while student responses reached 100%, both categorized as very positive. This media was shown to enhance students’ understanding and participation in the learning process. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers use concrete and interactive media to foster a more meaningful and engaging learning environment
