Abstract
Stroke is a neurological disorder characterized by blockage of blood vessels. Clots form in the
brain and disrupt blood flow, block arteries and cause blood vessels to rupture, causing bleeding.
Rupture of arteries leading to the brain due to stroke causes sudden death of brain cells due to
lack of oxygen. Stroke can also cause depression and dementia. Until the International
Classification of Disease 11 (ICD) in 2018, stroke was classified as a blood vessel disease. Activity
Daily Living contains a person's independence in carrying out activities and functions of daily life
that are regular and commonly carried out by humans such as bathing, eating, toileting, moving
around, and dressing. Quality of life is an individual's perception of their position in life according
to the cultural context and value system of the place where they live and its relationship to their
approach to goals, expectations, and standards, and other things that are of concern to the
individual. This study aims to determine the relationship between activity daily living and quality
of life in stroke patients. This study is a type of analytical observational study using a cross
sectional study design. The sample of this study was stroke patients who met the inclusion and
exclusion criteria. The sample was given a questionnaire in the form of a barthel index
questionnaire and short form-36. Based on the results of the Pearson correlation test, it showed
a p-value = 0.003 <0.05, which means there is a relationship between daily living activities and
quality of life.
