Abstract
he use of transportation is an important aspect of daily life, especially in the context of the family. By understanding the decision-making process regarding the use of transportation within the family, we can design transportation policies and services that are more in line with the needs of the community. Research on the decision-making process regarding the use of transportation within the family can provide valuable insights for policy developers and transportation service providers, thereby improving the quality of life and mobility of the community as a whole. Research Approach and Type Research is one way that humans answer problems, cases, human curiosity, or explain a phenomenon. In conducting research, we can increase knowledge, which until now has occurred as a result of the research. Dissatisfaction and curiosity are strong motivations for someone to conduct research. A quantitative research approach with a questionnaire is a research method that uses a questionnaire as an instrument to collect data from respondents. This approach aims to collect data that can be measured and analyzed statistically to understand social or scientific phenomena. Type of Quantitative Research with Questionnaires. This research can be classified as good because it has a coefficient of determination value that is greater than other undefined variables and errors. Based on Max Weber's Theory of Social Action in the study it can be concluded that: Rational Action Value that users prefer private vehicles because they have a lot of privacy in driving. Instrumental Action users choose to use private vehicles because private vehicles provide more freedom in traveling. Affective Action users choose to use private vehicles because users feel that using a vehicle provides more comfort in driving. In addition, this study shows that the decision making of transportation users has a positive effect on vehicle usage control by conducting routine roadworthiness tests because users believe that roadworthiness tests or vehicle usage control can help ensure safety and extend the life of the vehicle.
