Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of gadget use on student character in the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5) among fourth-grade students at SDN Temas 01. Amid rapid technological development, gadgets have become frequently used tools by students, both in learning activities and daily life. While gadget use can bring positive effects—such as enhancing creativity and learning independence—it may also lead to negative consequences, such as reduced social interaction and a decline in cooperative attitudes.

This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included fourth-grade students, classroom teachers, and parents. The study focuses on the impact of gadget use across six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile: faith in God and noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical thinking, and creativity.

The findings indicate that gadget use has both positive and negative impacts. On the positive side, students gain broader access to information and show increased independence in learning. On the negative side, gadget use can foster individualistic behavior, reduce moral values, and create dependency on entertainment content. Therefore, the role of teachers is crucial in guiding gadget use so that it aligns with character development based on the values of the Pancasila Student Profile.
