Abstract

This research aims to describe PAI teachers' strategies in teaching the values of islamic moderation to students at SMAN 4 Malang City, as well as identifying support and inhibit factors in the formation of attitudes of islamic moderation in the school environment. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study type, where data is collected by observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that PAI teachers apply various strategies, such as contextual learning, discussion, modeling and involving students in islamic and interfaith activities. The main support factor include the school principal, an inclusive school environment, the active role of student organizations and family involvement. Meanwhile, inhibit factors include the influence of an environment outside the school that is less conducive, the rise of immoderate islamic content on social media and limited inclusive islamic facilities. This research emphasizes the importance of synergy between school, family and community in forming the character of students who are moderate, tolerant and able to appreciate diversity. It is hoped that the results of this research can be a reference for develop effective PAI learning strategies in teaching the values of islamic moderation in high schools.
