Abstract

This study aims to determine feed consumption, chest circumference, and body weight of calves aged 2 weeks given Calf Milk Replacer (CMR) feed. The subjects used were 2-week-old calves belonging to 10 traditional farmers. The method employed was an experiment conducted through direct interviews with farmers assisted by questionnaires to collect primary data from the farmers. The observed variables include feed consumption, chest circumference, and body weight. Data analysis was performed using quantitative descriptive analysis methods. The results of the analysis showed that Calf Milk Replacer (CMR) feed affects the growth of chest circumference in 2-week-old calves, recording 88.7 cm in the first 5 days and 90.5 cm in the second 5 days. The body weight of 2-month-old calves was 68 kg in the first 5 days and 7.8 kg in the second 5 days. Feed consumption for 2-week-old calves was recorded at 4.3 litres in the first 5 days and 2.3 litres in the second 5 days. Feed consumption has decreased, which is caused by the health of the calves. The conclusion of this study is that the chest circumference and body weight of calves fed with Calf Milk Replacer have increased while feed consumption has decreased due to the health factors of the calves.
