Abstract

Based on the needs analysis, students tend to be bored with learning activities that are less innovative and less focused and experience difficulties in mathematics subjects on multiplication material. This is a lack of learning with new innovative methods that currently still use lecture methods, the use of LKS books and questions and answers. To overcome these problems, researchers developed the fun thinkers book media as a more interactive and fun learning innovation. This media is designed in the form of a book that has 3 components, namely a game book, a display frame, and tiles and there are dice elements that display multiplication operations of whole numbers up to 100. This study aims to develop an interactive learning media, the fun thinkers book, on multiplication material for fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Pakisaji Malang.
The method used in developing this media was the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and qualitative and quantitative analysis. Media validation tests were conducted by subject matter and media experts, and pilot testing was conducted on 21 fourth-grade students from SDN 2 Pakisaji Malang.
The validation results showed that the fun thinkers book met the criteria for being highly valid for use in learning activities, with a score of 97% from subject matter experts and 92% from media experts. Teacher responses were 93% positive, and student responses indicated a level of interest of 95,23%. Therefore, the fun thinkers book is valid for use in mathematics multiplication lessons for fourth-grade elementary school students. The content of this game book required considerable time to develop, as it required a design that was appropriate and aligned with the material. Future researchers are expected to develop more innovative and creative fun thinkers books.
