Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the drug abuse case development program carried out at the Class IIA Tangerang Women's Prison and the problems that led them to fall into this case. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study type. The techniques used in this data collection are observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis uses an interactive qualitative model analysis (Miles & Huberman). The results of this study indicate that (1) the problems that cause someone to fall into this case are due to lack of self-control, economic problems, lack of sufficient education, the influence of the surrounding environment, lifestyle, and the influence of psychological disorders. (2) The rehabilitation program provided to inmates complies with Law No. 22 of 2022, which stipulates that inmates are guaranteed protection and are encouraged to improve their quality of life through personality development and independence activities. It also complies with Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics, which aims to improve their quality of life through social rehabilitation programs. However, this research has yet to find effectiveness in curing and restoring inmates from drug abuse due to the high number of recidivists.
