Abstract

This research examines the implementation of Pancasila Education in developing national defense awareness among 8th-grade students at MTs Pacet. Pancasila Education plays a central role in shaping national character, but its implementation often remains limited to theoretical aspects. Challenges include less interactive teaching methods, weak school culture, and insufficient involvement from families and the community. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from the School Principal, Pancasila Education Teacher, and students. The findings indicate that the implementation of Pancasila Education at MTs Pacet is effective in integrating national defense values through project-based learning and co-curricular activities. Students actively participate in ceremonies, discussions, and extracurricular activities, fostering a nationalist character. However, inhibiting factors include students' limited understanding and motivation, as well as less varied teaching methods. Nevertheless, family and peer environments contribute positively to instilling national values. Students' understanding of national defense is at a moderate level, where they are able to identify and practice Pancasila values (humanity, unity, social justice) in daily life, demonstrating an awareness that national defense is a shared responsibility.
