Abstract
The increasing popularity of games causes all kinds of problems, one of which is fear of missing out. Online games as a source of entertainment have many facilities to facilitate social interaction, which causes people to not want to be left out of an activity. This study aims to find the correlation between fear of missing out with online gaming intensity. Quantitative correlation is being used as the method of this study. Respondents were people with ages ranging from 16-34 years old who’s active playing online games. Samples are being chosen with purposive sampling as the method. Online game intensity and fear of missing out scale were used as these study instruments. Data was analyzed using SPSS IBM 23 software. The results show that the significant value is p<0.05 and pearson’s correlation value is r=0.449. It can be concluded that there’s a positive medium correlation between fear of missing out with online gaming. It can be concluded that the higher online gaming intensity, the higher fear of missing out and vice versa.
