STRATEGI PENYUNTINGAN SUBSTANTIF DAN MEKANIS OLEH TARISA DELA PADA BUKU LIKUEFAKSI PALU MENGGEMPARKAN DUNIA KARYA TASMAN BANTO

This study discusses the strategies of substantive and mechanical editing applied to the book Likuefaksi Palu Menggemparkan Dunia by Tasman Banto. It employs a qualitative descriptive approach, using Eneste’s editing theory as the primary analytical framework. The focus of this research is directed toward identifying, evaluating, and applying editing strategies to improve the content and language quality of the book.The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the substantive and mechanical editing strategies implemented in the book. Through a qualitative descriptive
method, the study examines the aspects of content, structure, and writing style in substantive editing, as well as spelling, punctuation, and formatting in mechanical editing. The findings reveal that the substantive editing strategies emphasize improving narrative coherence and the accuracy of scientific information, while the
mechanical editing strategies focus on technical consistency and text readability. This research is expected to contribute to the development of editing practices, particularly in the context of scientific writing and popular literature in Indonesia.
