Abstract

This study explores the phenomenon of self- diagnose in lesbian cases among female college students in malang, which has gained attention due to the rising number of individuals identifiying their sexual orientation without professional assistance. The research aims to examine the social factors influencing self- diagnose and the resulting sosial impacts. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through observation, in- depth interviews, and documentation with four research subjects. The findings reveal that environmental influences, past traumas, curiosity, and emotional impulses such as pity and experimentation are key triggers for self- diagnose meanwhile, the resulting social withdrawal, difficulty foarming heterosexual relationships, and experiencing stigma and discrimination from the surrounding environment. These findings highlight the importance of proper education, healtysocial support, and professional involment in helping individuals understand their sexual identity in a responsible and healty manner.
