Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematics learning medium in the form of
an Addition Funnel Box intended for second-grade elementary school students to
understand the concept of addition. The study was motivated by the lack of variety
in learning media in schools, which tend to be conventional, resulting in low
motivation and understanding of addition among students.
The method used in this study is the ADDIE development model, which
includes five stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and
Evaluation. The validation results show that the developed media received a
feasibility score of 79.1% from subject matter experts and 86.1% from media
experts, categorized as highly feasible. The implementation results on second-grade
students at SDN Gunung Sari 01 showed an increase in understanding of the
concept of addition, with an average student evaluation score of 90.4. Additionally,
the survey results indicated that 80.3% of students found the media engaging and
easy to understand.
Thus, the Addition Funnel Box media has proven to be feasible in enhancing
students' understanding and interest in mathematics learning, and is suitable for use
as thematic learning media based on the Merdeka curriculum.
