Abstract
This research aims to develop the KIPER (Multiplication Wheel) media for fourth-grade mathematics at SDN 2 Pakisaji. Currently, mathematics learning at SDN 2 Pakisaji is limited to traditional methods such as lectures and textbooks, resulting in students quickly becoming bored and lacking focus when learning multiplication. To address this issue, researchers developed the KIPER (Multiplication Wheel) media as an interactive and enjoyable learning innovation. This media is designed in the form of a rotating pinwheel that displays multiplication operations up to 100. It is made of wood, which is stronger and more durable.
This study uses the ADDIE development model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Media validation tests were conducted by material experts and media experts, and were trialed on teachers and fourth-grade students of SDN 2 Pakisaji, Malang Regency. The research instruments consisted of observation guidelines, interview guidelines, validation questionnaires, and documentation. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively to determine the validity and attractiveness of the developed media. Student responses to the media showed a very enthusiastic, interested, and active attitude in learning.
The validation results show that the KIPER media meets the criteria of very valid with a percentage score of 97.91% from material experts and 92.85% from media experts. Student responses show a level of media interest of 97.62%, and teachers give an assessment of 95.45% in the very interesting category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the KIPER media is valid for use in learning mathematics multiplication material for grade IV elementary schools. For further researchers, it is hoped that they can develop KIPER media that are more innovative and creative in attracting students' attention in the learning process. The limitation of this study is the use of KIPER media which is only focused on the material of multiplication operations 1 to 100 in the subject of mathematics for grade IV elementary schools.
