Abstract
Mathematics learning is given starting from elementary school (SD) level, because of the importance of this lesson for the next level. The current reality is that mathematics is a subject that is considered difficult by some students. Frequent complaints from students are about the many formulas and rules that must be memorized and understood in their use. The purpose of this study 1) To determine the application of the PBL model assisted by educational games on understanding basic mathematical concepts in class III SDN Gadingkulon 2 Dau. 2) To determine the increase in understanding of basic mathematical concepts using the PBL model assisted by educational games in class III SDN Gadingkulon 2 Dau.
This study used a the researcher is the classroom action research (CAR) approach. This research model is designed using the CAR cycle according to Kemmis & Mc Taggart, there are four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Classroom action research comes from the English term Classroom Action Research (CAR), which means research conducted in a class to determine the effects of actions applied to a research subject in class III SDN Gadingkulon 2 dau.
The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of Problem Based Learning activities in Mathematics learning for grade III students of SDN Gadingkulon 2 Dau has been implemented through five main stages, namely 1) Orienting students to problems, 2) Organizing students to learn, 3) Guiding individual and group investigations, 4) Developing and presenting work results, 5) Analyzing and evaluating the process of understanding concepts.
