Abstract
The implementation of the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5) project as part of the Merdeka Curriculum requires teachers to be well-prepared in designing and delivering meaningful, project-based learning experiences. At SD Negeri Tegalgondo, a medicinal plants (TOGA) project was chosen as an innovative approach within the P5 framework. However, challenges remain regarding teachers' readiness, such as limited understanding of P5 concepts, time constraints, and lack of parental involvement. This study aims to analyze teacher readiness in implementing P5 activities and to identify the factors influencing the process, particularly in the context of the TOGA project.
This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal and third- and fourth-grade teachers involved in P5 implementation. The data were analyzed qualitatively to explore the planning, execution, and challenges encountered by teachers in applying project-based learning within a thematic and contextual framework at school.
The findings show that teacher readiness is relatively adequate, demonstrated through structured planning, coordination, and integration of P5 content into classroom instruction. Obstacles included time limitations and a lack of parental understanding of P5. The study concludes that, despite these challenges, the TOGA project within P5 activities contributes positively to character development and student engagement. However, further training and stronger support systems are needed to enhance teacher readiness in implementing P5 more effectively in the future.
