Abstract

Introduction: As a result of flooding, victims are at greater risk of experiencing mental health
problems such as stress, depression, and anxiety disorders. Resilience is the ability to adapt to stressful
life events through recovery. It is a strength that comes from within, enabling the individual to adapt
to stressful events.
Methods: The population in this study was 133 elderly people, with a purposive sampling technique,
and a sample size of 99 elderly people. A cross-sectional, correlative analytical research method was
used.
Results: The Spearman correlation test showed no relationship between resilience and post-flood
anxiety in the elderly, with an r value of -0.134 and a p value of 0.185 >0.05.
Conclusion: Elderly people affected by flooding have high resilience, and anxiety levels are moderate.
The sperm correlation test shows that there is a negative but not significant relationship between
resilience and anxiety, meaning that the higher the respondent's resilience level will not have a significant
effect on the severity of the respondent's anxiety level.
