Abstract

Based on observations and interviews with class teachers on May 22, 2025, the results of the analysis of the needs of class I students at SDN Giripurno 03, obtained that some students still have difficulty in maintaining focus, are not fully active in participating, and need more interactive stimuli to be more motivated in understanding the material. So that in the learning process, there are several challenges that need to be considered, such as variations in media that can increase student involvement. Therefore, it is necessary to develop more innovative learning media that are in accordance with student needs, one of which is web-based e- flashcards.
This study aims to develop a web-based e-flashcard media for early reading instruction. This development uses the ADDIE model, which includes five main stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study uses qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to determine how the web-based e-flashcard development process can improve students' understanding of early reading. This study involved 28 respondents who were grade I students as trial subjects. The instruments used in this study included an expert validation questionnaire, a user response questionnaire, and an early reading comprehension test. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively quantitatively to measure the validity and effectiveness of the media, and qualitatively to assess responses and input from users.
The development of web-based e-flashcard media obtained very good results based on various aspects of validation and user responses. The validation of material experts obtained a score of 94.44% from media experts 94.44%, both of which are included in the very good category. The results of student evaluations after using this media showed an average score of 88.21, which reflects a significant increase in understanding of the material. In addition, student responses to web- based e-flashcards reached 91.58%, indicating that they felt this media was interesting, easy to access, and supported the learning process effectively.
