Gerakan Mapim Dalam Upaya Pemenuhan Hak Pengungsi Rohingya Di Malaysia

The author found that the arrival of Rohingya refugees in Malaysia arouse different responses from the government and society. The Malaysian government tends to reject the arrival of refugees because there is no binding responsibility to accept their arrival. Meanwhile, their communities tend to show an attitude of accepting the arrival of refugees. In fact, Malaysian society seems to be making efforts to fulfill the rights of refugees as human beings. The research main aim is to review information regarding the fulfillment of the rights of Rohingya refugees in Malaysia using a civil society perspective. This research is a descriptive using qualitative method. Based on Scholte's version of civil society analysis, the author found that there is a form of civil society that fulfills the rights of Rohingya refugees carried out by Malaysian society. This refers to the degree of urgency of 'displacement' as an international issue that needs to be resolved. Then this was demonstrated through empirical actions, by Tenaganita and MAPIM's efforts to accommodate the needs and rights of Rohingya refugees.
