Abstract
This study aims to examine the trend in broiler chicken demand in Malang City over the period from 2014 to 2023, as well as to identify the key factors influencing this demand. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, utilizing secondary data collected from official sources such as the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The data analysis was conducted using a simple linear trend method. The findings indicate a steady annual increase in the demand for broiler chicken, rising from 7,359 tons in 2014 to 10,589 tons in 2023.
Several factors contributed to this increase, including population growth, higher per capita consumption, and the dominance of the productive age group in the city’s demographic structure.
The trend analysis produced a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.9996, indicating a highly accurate and reliable model in explaining the observed trend.
