KOMUNIKASI ANAK DENGAN ORANG TUA PADA KELUARGA BROKEN HOME (Studi Fenomenologi Pada Anak Dan Orang Tua Di Perumahan Pesanggrahan Pratama Malang)

This study aims to understand the forms of communication within broken home families in the Pesanggrahan Pratama Housing Complex, Malang City. The background of this study is based on the high rate of divorce, which directly impacts the structure and dynamics of family communication, particularly among children. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method and descriptive analysis based on the thoughts of Edmund Husserl. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of five subjects who are children from broken home families. The results show that children's communication with both parents after divorce undergoes various changes, such as communication barriers, decreased openness, reduced communication intensity, and trust crises. However, some subjects also show positive adaptive responses in interpersonal communication that reflect empathy, support, and openness, both from parents and the surrounding social environment.

This study highlights the importance of communication patterns in restoring post-divorce family relations and as a medium for strengthening identity and emotional stability. The findings are expected to serve as a reference in developing family communication theories and social interventions for children from broken home families.
