Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study is motivated by the trend of creative economy growth, which has been increasing annually. However, the presence of the creative economy in Cileng Village, specifically in the form of jali-jali bags, still has minimal sales. This is due to the lack of human resources with the skills to create innovative products and the limited mastery of modern marketing techniques. The current condition of the small and medium-sized enterprises (UKM) producing jali-jali bags has not yet demonstrated how significantly these businesses can contribute to the growth of the economic system in Cileng Village.
This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach to examine the phenomenon by describing it in detail through in-depth data collection. Data collection methods include documentation, interviews, and observation. Using model, with two data sources: primary and secondary data. The research subjects consist of the village head, village secretary, jali-jali bag UKM promoters, and jali-jali bag UKM artisans. Analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The results of this study indicate that the implementation of community empowerment to enhance creative economy-based UKM in Cileng Village, Magetan District, has been carried out fairly well. Jim Ife's theory was used to explain the indicators in the empowerment process. First, planning and policy through the identification of potential in the form of the presence of productive-aged female human resources. Second, social and political action is seen from community participation in empowerment programs and stakeholder involvement, which is still minimal, affecting the slow strengthening of community capacity and the suboptimal implementation of programs. Third, education and awareness-raising through technical guidance on business management, jali-jali bag training, and marketing guidance revealed that 10% of total participants still lack access to digital media.
