CITRA PEREMPUAN MAJU DALAM SERIES NETFLIX (Analisis Isi Pada Series Netflix “Gadis Kretek”)

Gadis Kretek is a Netflix series with drama, romance and action genres. This series depicts the journey of self-discovery of female kretek craftsmen, female characters who reveal and challenge traditions in the kretek cigarette industry in Indonesia. This research is motivated by the Image of Advanced Women in the Netflix Series Gadis Kretek. The Netflix Series Gadis Kretek contains the message of the Image of Advanced Women. The approach used in this study is quantitative with a descriptive type of research. The method used is Content analysis, namely consistency in the content of communication, the meaning of the content of communication, reading symbols and the meaning of the content of symbolic correlations that occur in communication. Researchers found a shift in the depiction of women as the perception of women only being able to manak, macak, and cook
packaged to convince that women can do more than what society thinks. The results of this study show the Image of Women in the Netflix Series Gadis Kretek that women take jobs or activities, traits, behavior, and appearances that were previously played are not as society thinks in the Series, both in terms of narrative and character. The results of the study show that the Gadis Kretek Series depicts the symbol of the image of advanced women contained in the series. This can be seen from the elements of shooting, duration, categorization of the image of
Advanced Women which consists of Independent in Thinking and Acting, Empowered in Empowering, Visionary and Adaptive, Firm in Upholding Values, Fighting for Women's Rights, Daring to take risks and try new things.
