Abstract
Music or songs are a form of art that plays a role in representing the meaning of values within society as well as individual human attitudes. One example is the song titled LosT by Bring Me The Horizon, which conveys messages related to mental health. This research aims to explore the meaning contained in the lyrics of LosT, particularly focusing on the mental health messages embedded within the song. The study employs Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory and uses a structural qualitative approach. It analyzes the lyrics through the concepts of signifier and signified, where each transcribed line is examined per verse. The findings reveal implicit meanings of mental health disorders conveyed through each verse using the signifier and signified method. Additionally, the researcher identifies the song as a crack text, as it uses metaphorical phrases to deliver its mental health message. This research is expected to contribute to academic discourse, particularly in the field of semiotic analysis of music, and to enhance public knowledge and awareness regarding mental health conditions—both personally and socially.
