Abstract

ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to determine the production volume of frozen semen from
Limousin and Bali cattle during different seasons at the Balai Besar Inseminasi
Buatan (BBIB) Singosari from 2021 to 2023. The research was carried out from
January 2024 to February 2024 at the Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan (BBIB)
Singosari, located at Jl. BBIB, Ngujung, Toyomarto, Singosari District, Malang
Regency, East Java. The data analysis technique used was a paired comparison test
to determine whether there was a significant difference in the production of frozen
semen from Limousin and Bali cattle during the rainy and dry seasons. The results
of the paired comparison test showed that the production of frozen semen from
Limousin and Bali cattle during the rainy and dry seasons was not significantly
different (P>0.05). It can be concluded that the season does not affect the
production of frozen semen in Limousin and Bali cattle. However, the production of
frozen semen from Limousin cattle over the three-year period generally indicated
that the rainy season was better than the dry season. Similarly, the production of
frozen semen from Bali cattle was generally higher during the rainy season than
the dry season, as evidenced by higher production in the rainy seasons of 2021 and
2023. However, there is potential for the dry season to be more favorable, as
indicated by the production data from 2022, where more frozen semen was produced
during the dry season than the rainy sea
