PENGARUH LAMA SIMPAN TELUR TERHADAP SUSUT TELUR DAN PRESENTASE DAYA TETAS AYAM KAMPUNG UNGGUL BALITBANGTAN (KUB)

Balitbangtan Superior Kampung Chicken (KUB) is one type of local chicken resulting from innovation that has great potential to be developed as a producer of meat and eggs. This study aims to determine the effect of storage time on the quality of KUB chicken eggs, especially on egg weight and hatching power. The study was conducted in a KUB chicken coop owned by residents in Cangkring Village, Tembelang District, Jombang Regency, from February 12, 2025 to March 8, 2025. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four storage time treatments (1, 4, 7, and 10 days) and five replications, each consisting of 7 eggs per replication, so that there were a total of 140 KUB chicken eggs. The variables observed were egg weight before and after storage and hatching power after the incubation process. The results showed that storage time had a significant effect (P <0.05) on hatching power. Storage treatments for 1, 4, and 7 days produced the best hatching power. The results showed that the storage period had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on egg weight. Storage treatments for 1 and 4 days produced the best egg weight. Based on these results, it was concluded that the most optimal storage of KUB chicken eggs was carried out for a maximum of 1, 4, and 7 days to obtain the best hatching power, while to obtain the best egg weight, storage was required for 1 and 4 days.
