Abstract

Background: The problem of low understanding and implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in elementary school-aged children is still an important issue in the field of community health.
Method: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the ACEJ (Active, Creative, Effective, and Joyful) approach based on audio-visual media and demonstrations in improving students' knowledge of PHBS at SD Islam Al-Faqih Sukoanyar. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires to students in grades 3 to 5.
Results: The results of the study showed that the majority of students previously did not optimally understand the importance of washing hands and brushing teeth properly. After the intervention was carried out, there was a significant increase in understanding, where students were more enthusiastic and actively involved in the health learning process.
Conclusion: The ACEJ method has been proven to encourage active student engagement, make learning more enjoyable, and improve their ability to internalize health messages. This study recommends the integration of the ACEJ method into the curriculum and the involvement of teachers and parents in ongoing health promotion.
