PERAN PRODUCTION DESIGNER DALAM FILM "5 MIN 1"

The short fiction film “5 Min 1” tells the story of a child who feels that his parents always have no time for him because they are too busy working, making the child decide to leave his parents and live on the streets to find the meaning of life and freedom. While living on the streets, he also learned life lessons to become a better person with various lessons, one of which was through Javanese philosophy. The goal that the author wants to achieve in making the short film “5 Min 1” is to produce a work that can be a reflection for the audience. The role of production designers in a filmmaking process is divided into several stages ranging from pre-production to production, in pre-production production designers together with the director develop ideas about concepts that will later be used as a reference in making film works, especially in the scope of property / set design, wardrobe and actor makeup which will later become a reinforcement of the storyline and mood in a film, here the production designer is required to think creatively and be able to clearly describe how the picture of a director in the visualization of a script. In the production stage, the production designer together with other artistic teams realize all the concepts that have been made previously in the pre-production stage, the production designer is responsible for everything related to the duties of the artistic team ranging from making property wardrobe selection to determining the makeup that will be used by the actors when the shooting process begins so that the concept and mood of the film can be realized properly according to what is in the film script.
