PERAN PEKERJA SOSIAL DALAM IMPLEMENTASI REHABILITASI SOSIAL TERHADAP ORANG DENGAN GANGGUAN JIWA DI UPT. REHABILITASI SOSIAL BINA LARAS KABUPATEN KEDIRI

This study aims to examine the role of social workers in the implementation of social rehabilitation for People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ) at the UPT. Social Rehabilitation Bina Laras in Kediri Regency. ODGJ are individuals who experience mental disorders and often face stigma and discrimination from society. Social rehabilitation is a crucial effort to restore the social functioning of ODGJ by providing skills and emotional management so that they can interact well within the community. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study involves data reduction, data presentation, conclusion, and verification. The validity of the data is tested using credibility testing. The results indicate that social workers play roles as brokers, educators, advocates, and facilitators in the social rehabilitation process. They not only assist in designing rehabilitation programs but also serve as a link between ODGJ and the various services they need, while providing education to families and the community to reduce stigma. The social rehabilitation activities conducted at UPT. Bina Laras include mental guidance, social guidance, physical training, skills training, and basic needs training, aimed at enhancing the independence and quality of life of ODGJ. This research is expected to provide new insights for students and other researchers regarding the importance of the role of social workers in the social rehabilitation of ODGJ, as well as to offer input for related institutions in developing more effective rehabilitation programs.
