LIFE HISTORY ORANG DENGAN GANGGUAN JIWA (ODGJ)

This study aims to determine the journey and process of a person becoming a Person with Mental Disorder (ODGJ) caused by drugs. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative method with a casestudy approach of the life history type. The data collection techniques used by the researcher were in dept interviews, observation, and documentation. The result of the study showed that the danger of drugs play a major role in triggering mental disorder. The reason for the subject becoming a drug abuser are due to varios factors such as lack of family role, unhealthy environnmental influenche, loss of a loved on, and romance. With the varios problems that arise, drugs are a shortcut as an escape for subjects who face varios problems. After experiencing mental disorders and now recovering, someone the researcher studied realized that the dangers of drugs were so great for their physical and mental health. Based on the results of this study, the researcher tried to explore the meaning and understanding of the subject regarding the identity of people with mental disorders caused by drugs abuse. This study focuses on the subject's experience from someone who abuses drugs to becoming a person with mental disorder and finally recovering. Based on the research result, the dangers of drugs are very great for life. Therefore, the role of the goverment in overcoming and preventing drug abuse for the community is very important. The goverment can take action and polices to combat drug is a shared task, not only the National Narcotics Agency, but all agiencies to close the scope of drug distribution. In addition, the government must also enforce the law strietlyfor drug deales and perpetrators to provide a deterrent effect. Not only that, the government must also provide rehabilitation services for people with mental disorders due to drugs.
