Abstract
The development of the world of education amid globalization demands the ability to adapt to cultural diversity and communication. Indonesia's aspiration to expand its reach in world-class education is gradually but surely being realized through digital platforms, international programs, and global collaborations that can enhance diplomatic relations, boost tourism, expand Indonesia's network worldwide, promote Indonesian culture and language abroad, and develop communication access and equitable education quality. This study aims to analyze how foreign students in the BIPA program respond to learning communication activities at Muhammadiyah University of Malang using the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) theory approach. The S-O-R model is used to examine how stimuli in the form of learning activity support components are processed by foreign students (organisms), leading to responses in the form of attitudes, understanding, and active participation. This study employs a quantitative method with a descriptive quantitative approach, involving 20 international students from various countries studying Indonesian at Muhammadiyah University of Malang. Data collection techniques were conducted using a questionnaire. The results indicate that students' responses reflect an Approach behavioral response. International students demonstrated interest, motivation, and active engagement in learning, as well as a tendency to face and overcome challenges rather than avoid them. This indicates that learning communication activities in the BIPA program at Muhammadiyah University of Malang support positive and proactive attitudes among international students.
